About Abby

An Indiana native, Abby grew up in a small town as the eldest of three. At a young age, she discovered a passion for gaming, writing, and the performing arts. She attended Indiana University and received a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Bachelor of the Arts in Criminal Justice. While in school, Abby prioritized opportunities to study abroad. She spent two months in Oviedo, Spain in an intensive language immersion program, followed by two months in Canberra, Australia studying environmentally sustainable business legislation. Finally, in her Junior year of college, Abby spent six months in Maastricht, Netherlands studying literature from the 1920's and supply chain logistics.

Upon graduation, Abby was hired by Deloitte Consulting in the Strategy practice and moved to Chicago. She has spent the past four years providing growth strategy, market research, and system implementation services to her clients across the media & entertainment sector.

Determined to find a way to bring her passion for gaming and storytelling to the workplace, Abby leveraged her knowledge of the video game industry to help establish the Deloitte Gaming & Esports Community of Practice (CoP). As the editor-in-chief for the gaming CoP's monthly publication Press Play, Abby directly manages a team of 12 writers and has overseen the publication of 15+ editions sent to approximately 400 gaming experts and practitioners around the world.  She has also been published herself in the gaming space, writing about topics such as DE&I in gaming, accessibility in gaming, and geopolitical trends in the gaming industry (e.g. Singapore's investment into esports infrastructure, the impact of the war in Ukraine on the gaming industry, etc.).

When Abby is not advising her clients, she pursues personal writing projects. She currently has one fully drafted manuscript in the fantasy genre, with two more in progress.
